Practical Focus: simple tools for paying attention
You’re here. Take a second and look around. The tools can wait.
It’s easy to spend an hour somewhere you never meant to be.
One message turns into five tabs. The thing you sat down to do is still waiting.
Practical Focus is a small set of tools I made for those moments. Pick the one that matches the problem in front of you.
Three apps. No streaks or guilt trips.
Flow Timer
Start the timer and work until you want to stop.
Your break grows as you focus. There’s no 25-minute cutoff.
I’m also working on short practices, notes, and the occasional letter.
I built the first timer for myself.
Hi, I’m Arthur. Practical Focus is just me.
For the past seven years, I’ve lived out of two backpacks. I work wherever I land. Outside work, I’m usually learning to surf, dancing forró, or playing altinha on the beach. I could work more. I don’t want work to take the whole day.
That’s where these apps come from. I make them to help work take the time it needs, then stop. Each one started with something that kept bothering me.
I want them to still be here years from now, so they pay for themselves instead of running ads or selling your data. That’s the promise.
